THE NHBRC REGISTRATION TEST & THE TECHNICAL MANAGER

Did you know that the hardest part about obtaining the NHBRC registration is the appointment of a technical manager as well as the passing of the NHBRC’s technical assessment exam?

And did you know that it’s a compulsory test, whether you appoint a technical manager or not.

If you choose not to appoint a technical manager, you as the owner of the company will be required to sit and write the test within 30 days after payment of the first initial application invoice of R 745.61 at the NHBRC.

HOWEVER, WE AT FIXONATE, OFFER YOU 3 NHBRC REGISTRATION SERVICE OPTIONS.

  • Option 1:  Hire one of our fully trained technical managers to write the test on behalf of your company
  • Option 2:  Let us do the entire NHBRC registration process for your from start to end including the collection of the certificate from the NHBRC offices
  • Option 3:  Buy the NHBRC preparation study materials for the test & appoint yourself as the technical manager.

MORE ABOUT THE NHBRC TECHNICAL EXAM

The assessment test is an open computer book test that consists of 25 multiple choice questions divided into sections as shown below. In order to pass the exam, you need at least 13 marks out of 25.

The time duration for the exam is 1 hour & 30 minutes. Usually, an invigilator will assist you within the first few minutes to set up your username, password as well as the details of your company on the NHBRC’s computer.

Please note that, the test is NOT based on the National Home Builders Manual that you receive upon payment of the initial R 745.61 invoice but rather, it is based on the SANS 10400, 2001, 10137 & other sans manuals which are too plenty for me to mention here.

All the examinable topics are summarized in our study guide offered.

Our technical managers are fully trained in terms of the NHBRC regulations to represent your company.

Our technical managers can be used to write the test on behalf of your company or represent you in terms of the NHBRC enrollments and inspections should you need this.

Below, we have gone deeper into trying to explain the various aspects of the NHBRC’s technical assessment test as well as the various service options available to you from our company.

SECTIONS OF THE NHBRC TEST

  • Major Concrete Works (2 Marks)
  • Minor concrete works ( 2 Marks)
  • Foundation (1 Mark)
  • Walling (5 Marks)
  • Masonry Walling (2 Marks)
  • Roofing Timber (2 Marks)
  • Timber Flooring (2 Marks)
  • General Question (5 Marks)

Right here, on our website, you can find the 125 Questions that the NHBRC examines on a rotational basis. Please note that if you can not view the PDF on a mobile phone, you can log on to a laptop or desktop PC and access the PDF’s there. The free download test is redacted, however, the non-redacted test, answer sheet as well as the study guide can be accessed at a cost of R 600.  You will need a password to access the non redacted NHBRC test questions, answer sheet as well as the study notes as part of our NHBRC service offering. Read on for more info & options.

OPTION 1 –

PURCHASE THE PASSWORD TO THE PAID TEST PDF, ANSWER SHEET & STUDY GUIDE FOR ONLY R 600.

For those of you wishing to write the test yourself, we charge a flat fee of R 600 to give you access to the password that will open the non redacted test, answer sheet as well as the summarized study guide. Remember, the test is an open computer book test. You can take the summarized study note materials with you to the exam, however, we do not suggest that you take the test questions into the exam as this might not be permitted by the NHBRC. The study notes and any other material are allowed and they contain all the answers to the NHBRC questions that might come up. We suggest that you study our study notes and answer the questions to the test before checking the answers. Then mark your answers and keep going until you are 100% correct. Once you get all the answers correct and you know where the various topics are in the study guide,  we believe that you will be able to pass your NHBRC exam. Please do not try to cram the answers to the questions because this never works, but rather, try to determine, where the answers are in the study guide so that you can be able to answer the question in the examination center. Our study guide is less than 25 pages and should be fairly easy to master if you really want to pass your NHBRC exam. You can access all our materials with one password by paying R 600 into our FNB Account No: 62686499924, Branch Code: 250655. Please use your  cellphone number as the deposit reference as the password will be “smsed” directly to your cellphone number. You can also call us on 072 547 5231 (24 hours) should you not receive the password at least within 15 minutes. If you are not comfortable with the writing of the NHBRC test see more of our available NHBRC registration options 2 &3.

OPTION 2 –

HIRE  ONE OF OUR TECHNICAL MANAGERS TO WRITE THE TEST ON BEHALF OF YOUR COMPANY (R 2,800)

The NHBRC gives applicants the option to write the test themselves or appoint a technical manager if the technical manager is not part of the managing members of the company.

See this point No.6 on the NHBRC’s website of the registration process by clicking here .

The technical manager can be appointed by the company’s director/s or member/s, to write the exam on behalf of the company, same way, let’s say, if one hired an architect to draw up house plans on behalf of their construction company.

Our technical managers are fully trained engineers in the fields of the NHBRC regulations and requirements.

Apart from writing the test on behalf of your company, they can also be used in house enrollments as well as the NHBRC inspections should a need arise.

If you have already registered and you are simply in need of a technical manager to write the test on behalf of your company, you can forward us a copy of the paid up R 745.61 NHBRC invoice proof of payment together with your ID copy.

We shall dispatch a technical manager immediately to go and write the test on behalf of your company.

We charge a flat fee of R 2,800 for this service which you pay after you have confirmed the successful results of your test.

If you have not started the NHBRC registration process at all, our NHBRC full facilitation service can be of handy to you. See our option 3.

OPTION 3 –
