CIDB GRADE 1
The CIDB grade 1 is the entry level position for anyone wishing to bid for a government construction tender. The entry requirements are fairly simple. No track record or net worth is required for this level.
CIDB GRADE 2
To qualify for the CIDB level 2, You need to at least have demonstrated a track record between the values of R 130,000 to R 450,000. The company’s net worth or net assets value can still be zero.
CIDB GRADE 3
To qualify for the CIDB grade 3, a company needs to have carried out and completed a project of at least between R 450,000 to R 900,000. It must also meet either the financial or works capability thresholds.
CIDB GRADE 4
Qualifying for the CIDB grade 4 requires a company to have successfully completed a project between the values of R 900,000 to R 1,5 Million as well as in meeting the financial & works capability scores.
CIDB GRADE 5
To qualify for the CIDB grade 5, a contractor needs to have completed a project between the values of R 1,5 Million to R 3 Million & also meet the minimum thresholds for the financial & works capabilities.
CIDB GRADE 6
Qualifications for the CIDB grade 6, requires a construction company to have done a project between R 3 Million and R 9 Million. In addition to this, the company must also meet the minimum financial capabilities.
CIDB GRADE 7
In order to be qualified for the CIDB Grade 7, a construction company needs to have completed a construction project between the values of R 9 Million to R 30 million. It must also meet at least the minimum financial & works capability scores.
CIDB GRADE 8
The CIDB Grade 8 requires a company to have successfully completed a construction project between R 30 Million & R 90 Million. Requirements for both the minimum thresholds for works & financial capability must be met too.
CIDB GRADE 9
The CIDB grade 9 represents the ultimate grade on the CIDB scale. This grade requires a track record of projects of above R 30 million. Strict emphasis is also placed on its financial capabilities as well as works capability.
